Week of 20 January 2010

(SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers. Don't read it before you've read the comics.)

I did not see any LSH content in DC comics this week. Pshaw!

Thanks to Craigopher for pointing this one out. You might want to check out SUPERMAN/BATMAN #68 (3/10) "The Big Noise Part 1 Rumble Face" While examining a Kryptonian spaceship from the past, Batman finds evidence of a shape-shifter. While there are other shape-shifters in the DC universe, we might be dealing with a Durlan here. Stay tuned.

(This story apparently takes place during the "Our Worlds at War" crossover event, published in Summer 2001 -- unless somebody put the wrong banner on the cover. Since "Our Worlds at War" was several iterations of the DC Universe ago, it's unclear how much any of this has to do with current continuity. That confusion of continuity is another sign that the Legion might, ultimately, be involved.)

Its not a strong connection, but you might want to check out Superman/Batman #68. Villain is a time-traveling shape-shifter. DC's coming attractions listed for the next couple of months indicate the character is a Durlan.

Thanks, I will definitely check that out. Time-traveling shape-shifter, eh? Certainly sounds like there might be an LSH connection there.

There's a pretty significant Legion reveal at the conclusion of this week's "Man of Valor" storyline in "Superman," which makes me wonder if the Durlan in the S/B storyline might not be the LSV counterpart to said reveal.

There's also an interesting bit with a gorilla scientist wanting to dissect Mon's boy parts I haven't been following the storyline too closely just yet (I'm waiting for all the 20th century-Legionnaires to be revealed), so I couldn't figure out who the Gorilla was much less if I was reading a flashback, a dream, or a creepy premonition of Mon's. Anyway, it seems the gorilla has always wanted to research the male Daxamite reproductive organs (who hasn't?!)...shades of Valor seeding what would becoming the UP, perhaps?

Anyway, can't wait for the Legion storylines/new comics to launch full throttle!

Anyone backtracking appearances of Control, Mitch and Wilcox? Anyone else likely to turn up? Anyone cot the number of Compulsive Completists Anonymous?
